New Mexico Community Foundation (NMCF) recognizes the value of our state’s abundant assets. We strive to protect our  environment through conservation and preservation efforts that emphasize smart management of our land, air and water.  We also seek to ensure the humane treatment of animals, both domestic and in the wild, and the restoration of natural wildlife habitat statewide.

Many of our initiatives in these areas encourage community involvement in policy making and public education on issues ranging from environmental contamination from nuclear waste to providing emergency hay for horses whose owners have fallen on hard times.

By caring for our natural world and animal populations, NMCF improves quality of life for all New Mexcans.
