SANTA FE, NM – New Mexico Community Foundation is pleased to announce a Request for Proposal for grants to nonprofit organizations and educational institutions in the northeastern part of the state. Grants ranging from $2,500 – $5,000 will be awarded to support, strengthen, and sustain new or expanding programs within the focus areas of Health Awareness for Disease Prevention, and Arts and Culture Education. The first focus area includes, but is not limited to, obesity prevention, nutrition education, substance abuse prevention, programs related to diabetes or cardiovascular risk factors, prenatal care, and asthma.
As New Mexico’s only state-wide community foundation, these funds represent a unique and much needed opportunity for organizations in rural parts of the state. Eligible organizations must serve people living in San Miguel, Mora, Guadalupe, Colfax, Harding, Union, and/or Quay Counties. Deadline to apply is May 3, 2013.
